Steve Backshall

Steve Backshall is one of the busiest presenters on television, a house-hold name and a motivating, charismatic, and highly energetic speaker.

Steve is an all-action hero, having led overseas expeditions and explored some of the most incredible places on the planet. This, coupled with his unparalleled knowledge of wildlife and the natural world, make him a fascinating guest speaker.

Whether it’s a large international conference, trade show, corporate event, or a bespoke private occasion, Steve’s powerful personality leaves audiences with a renewed sense of purpose.

Steve’s TV profile is particularly impressive.

In 2023, he travelled across the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans filming Whale for Sky TV, a ground-breaking programme tracking our most iconic, yet threatened, species as well as series two of Our Changing Planet for BBC One, an ambitious seven-year series documenting six of the planet's most threatened ecosystems.

He has also presented three major TV projects for Channel 5 and his phenomenally successful Deadly series returned to screens with Deadly Mission Shark, CBBC.

Prior to this, Steve was a huge hit on BBC One’s Lost Land of the Jaguar, for which he scaled a previously unexplored peak to search for new species in the jungles of Guyana. Steve and his team made a near-death ascent of Mount Upuigma, scaling vertical rock walls as high as the Empire State Building, and sleeping suspended in space.

A prolific writer, Steve has published 19 books. His most recent, Deep Blue published in September 2023 has raced to the top of the best-seller list.

In 2023, Steve showed immense resilience, determination, drive, and ambition to break a new world record - for the fastest time to paddle the length of the Thames River.
