Here’s a revised version of the biography in British grammar:

Simon Brodkin, an acclaimed character comedian and dubbed “the world’s most famous blagger” by The Daily Telegraph, is now performing as himself, making waves in the UK stand-up scene. He gained global attention for his high-profile stunts, performed three critically-acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe shows, and broke records on TikTok. Recently, he performed for the British royal family on ITV1 at the annual Royal Variety Performance.

Simon has been touring with his latest show Screwed Up, with a fourth extension scheduled for autumn 2024. In March 2024, he sold out his headline show at Hammersmith Apollo and has two more dates at the venue on sale for later in the year. Dominic Maxwell of The Times praised the show, stating that “no show has made [him] laugh more than this one.” Simon has taken Screwed Up on a 110-date international tour, including a series of European performances. Last summer, Simon returned to Edinburgh with his show Xavier, which was lauded by Bruce Dessau for its “electrifying crowdwork” and described as “refreshing, intelligent and funny, with a twist of optimism” by Ashley Davies of Chortle

In 2019, Simon stepped away from his characters to perform stand-up as himself for the first time in his Edinburgh Fringe show 100% Simon Brodkin. The show enjoyed a sold-out run, was selected by The Evening Standard as one of the ‘Best Comedy Shows at the Edinburgh Fringe’, and was featured in The Guardians' ‘Shows We Recommend’ list.

With a huge social media following, Simon is the most-watched British stand-up comedian on TikTok. His videos frequently go viral, with one routine on climate change amassing over 75 million views. He has 2.5 million followers across various social media platforms.

As the star of Britain’s Greatest Hoaxer (Channel 4), Simon made global headlines with a series of high-profile stunts. These included handing Theresa May a P45 during her speech at the Conservative Party Conference, showering FIFA president Sepp Blatter with banknotes, surrounding Donald Trump with 60 swastika-emblazoned golf balls at one of his course openings, attaching a 25-foot sign to Sir Philip Green’s yacht, and posing as an ultra-orthodox Jewish rapper on Britain’s Got Talent – fooling Simon Cowell and the judges into giving him four ‘yeses’. Britain’s Greatest Hoaxer was nominated for Best Documentary at the Monte Carlo TV Festival Golden Nymph Awards 2018.

Simon’s most famous character, “comedy legend” Lee Nelson (*The Sun*), starred in two series of BBC Three’s hit show Lee Nelson’s Well Good Show, as well as the sketch series Lee Nelson’s Well Funny People, which introduced a host of unforgettable characters to British audiences.

Prior to his comedy career, Simon worked as a GP and has stolen the show performing at numerous medical and healthcare events over the years.
