Rob Rinder is a barrister (he specialised in international criminal law) turned broadcaster and Sunday Times No.1 bestselling author. 

His broadcast career began with Judge Rinder on ITV, while on radio he hosted his own BBC Radio 5 Live series 'Raising the Bar' which he started with a discussion with the former Lord Chief Justice, Lord Judge. More recently he presented a series on Classic FM exploring the work of LGBT composers & performers.

His episode of Who Do You Think You Are won a BAFTA and, following on from this, his documentary series ‘My Family, The Holocaust, and Me’ and ‘Holy Land our untold stories,’ aired to wide critical acclaim. In 2020 Rob was awarded an MBE for his services to the Holocaust education and an honorary doctorate for his legal work. The same year he received a Doctor of Literature from University College London for writing, teaching and advocacy in social equality and holocaust education. 

On a lighter note, Rob competed on the 14th series of Strictly Come Dancing ending the competition in fifth place. 

He is a regular host on Good Morning Britain, and reported from Ukraine / Poland border at the beginning of the war. He co-hosts BBC Two’s Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby and most recently appeared in BBC Two’s Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour, where he made his conducting debut in Venice. His show with Philippa Langley investigating the infamous death of the Princes in the Tower was the highest rated history programme on C4 and his groundbreaking new series Britain Behind Bars: A Secret History has recently aired on the same channel.

Rob’s novels The Trial and The Suspect were both Sunday Times number 1 best sellers and are inspired by his experiences as a barrister.

Rob is president of Orion Orchestra, a role which combines his passion for music with nurturing the next generation of the UK’s best young musicians. He is a keen ultra marathon runner (marathon de sables 2024), an honorary colonel in the Royal Corps of Army Musicians, speaks French and reads Russian.
