Richard Hammond



Richard Hammond is a television presenter best known for Top Gear on BBC and The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime but he has always had an interest in science and engineering 

He is well known for his interest in cars; he co-hosted BBC Two’s Top Gear alongside Jeremy Clarkson, and since 2016 he has co-hosted Amazon Prime’s The Grand Tour.  Earlier in his career, he presented a wide variety of television programmes, including Brainiac: Science Abuse, Total Wipeout, and Planet Earth Live. 

Richard returned to television in early 2020 after an absence of five years. On the Discovery Channel, he hosted of his own show, Big and Richard Hammond. 

The presenter travels around the world looking at the most grandiose and innovative engineering structures, such as the US Air Force Lockheed C-5 Galaxy plane, the massive Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg, an oil production platform in the Gulf of Mexico, the Burj Khalifa skyscraper, London's football team Tottenham Hotspur's super modern stadium, and many more.
