James Kynge



James Kynge is Emerging Markets Editor at the Financial Times, the main focus of which is in several areas: economic growth and development trends in emerging markets, connections between emerging markets (particularly China and the outside world), EM demographic themes and social trends.

James remains Chairman of FT Confidential Research, a research service at the Financial Times that generates data from China, Latin America and Southeast Asia and uses that data to analyse economic trends.

Kynge speaks fluent Mandarin, and is a regular commentator on Chinese and Asian issues for media outlets including NPR, CNN and the BBC.

He lives in Beijing, is married and has three children.
