Henry Bonsu

Henry Bonsu is a journalist and broadcaster who speaks on a wide range of subjects including sustainability, overseas development, international current affairs and diversity.

He is a regular panelist and reviewer on UK news channels ranging from the BBC to Sky, and topical discussion shows including ITV's Good Morning and Channel 5's Jeremy Vine. Henry also works as a freelance presenter on news channels including Times Radio conducting interviews on UK and US politics through to education and mental health.

His knowledge of international affairs has also seen him appear on Al Jazeera, MSNBC, and TRT World, providing informed commentary on everything from Brexit to George Floyd.

Henry attributes his interest in global affairs to growing up in a Ghanaian household in Manchester and studying Modern Languages (German and French) at Magdalen College, Oxford. He started out as a print journalist writing features for the Manchester Evening News and the Voice Newspaper, before joining BBC News and Current Affairs, where he worked as a producer on Radio 4's Today and Black Britain programmes, and as a presenter on Radio 5 Live and BBC London 94.9.

He also wrote columns on politics, race and popular culture for The Times, Evening Standard, Express and The Guardian.

He has built up a portfolio of international clients like the UNDP, WHO (Africa Region), UNHCR and the African Union, as well as public sector organisations here in the UK.

"Henry’s presentation’s skills are remarkable and unique. His ability to work under pressure and understand the needs of both the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards and the finalists quickly are true assets. Last, but not least, Henry’s enthusiasm and sparkling personality makes him a wonderful person to work with.”
