Gerard Lyons, a regular speaker at Davos, is the Chief Economic Strategist for a major UK wealth management company whose expertise is sought by private and public bodies worldwide.

Gerard has over 30 years’ experience as an economic strategist at Chase Manhattan, Swiss Bank and Standard Chartered. Between 2013 and 2016 he was the Chief Economic Adviser to the Mayor of London.

Gerard joined Netwealth in May 2016 and is responsible for Netwealth’s macroeconomic outlook and strategy, and is a member of their investment committee. 

Gerard’s first book, 'The Consolations of Economics', was a Daily Telegraph Book of the Year and was subsequently released as a paperback by Faber & Faber.

Gerard is a frequent commentator in the press and on television and he holds a number of advisory roles, including TheCityUK and Warwick University Business School. 

Gerard has an undergraduate degree from the University of Liverpool, an MSc in economics from the University of Warwick and a PhD in "Testing the efficiency of financial futures markets" from the University of London.
