Dino Sofos is CEO at Persephonic, a Podcast Pioneer and the architect behind the hugely successful "News Agents" podcast presented by John Sopel and Emily Maitlis.
Dino pioneered original formats, including the BBC’s Brexitcast, Americast and the daily Newscast – which amassed 85 million downloads under his tenure as Editor of BBC News Podcasts. He took Brexitcast to television on BBC One in 2019 – the first time that a current affairs podcast had been transferred to television.
During his fourteen years at the BBC, The Times said that Dino “ushered in a podcasting revolution”.
Dino left the BBC in 2021 to set up his own production company Persephonica. Their first title was Dua Lipa’s podcast, At Your Service.
A year later, Dino announced that Persephonica would be launching a new daily podcast called The News Agents, hosted by Maitlis, Sopel and Lewis Goodall in partnership with Global.
It has quickly established itself as the most popular daily news podcast in the UK, having hit 24 million downloads in seven months.
