Adrian boasts over 20 years of experience in AI, big data, analytics, and digital strategy. Most recently, he served as the Chief Data and AI Officer at BT, where he led a team of 1,600 experts in enhancing BT’s digital capabilities and developing new data and AI-focused businesses. Between 2020 and 2023, Adrian was an Expert Member of the UK AI Council, where he advised the government on national AI strategy. Before joining BT, Adrian was a Senior Partner and Head of Data and AI at Ernst & Young and spent over a decade at Google in various senior leadership roles centred around cloud, digital, and data science.
Adrian currently holds several non-executive positions, including non-executive director at Direct Line Insurance Group plc, board member of Allwyn Entertainment (the UK National Lottery operator), member of the NatWest Group’s Technology Advisory Board, and AI Advisor to the Private Equity sector.
Recognised by the Financial Times and Inclusive Boards as the most influential Black, Asian, and minority ethnic technology leader in the UK, Adrian also served as a Non-Executive Director to the UK Government’s Home Office, contributing to the development of its data, AI, digital, and diversity strategies. He was awarded an OBE for his contributions to equality and diversity in business.
